Personal review Just bought the camera, and of course the weather is at it's Scottish best,, absolutely bucketing down.
Bought the camera from first light optics, Why,,, bought all my more expensive purchases from them, just first class service in my view.
Came double boxed and encased in polystyrene chips, ordered on Sunday afternoon and got delivered on Tuesday morning,, no problems at all.
First thoughts,, this is a small camera 😀 Downloaded latest drivers and no problems at all
Opened sharpcap pro and camera was on the list. Only got to play around with it in the house, due to weather but the sensitivity of this camera was evident from start up,, and really impressed by the sharpcap pro software I'm using on the camera,
One very noticeable thing,, zoom at 100% was massive,, had to pull it back to 30+% to view on screen.
More to follow soon

I have this IMX178 a lot of weeks ago. Weather in Spain is no so bad than in Scotland and I have been able to prove it quite thoroughly.
I will like to read your opinion when you try it.
Its a great chip but with limitations.

Weather still not good,, waiting on next batch of storms,,apart from that it's like a typical Scottish summers day,, damp, cloudy and cold,, that's me off the Scottish tourism review board 😂.
Went to the flat today and got a bag of adapters to try and fit the zwo Asi178mc to the ed80,, and low and behold I have the kit,,got it set up in kitchen looking out at trees 400yds away took a 25mm extension tube to reach focus at that distance,,

Got a bit done yesterday,, found out problems with zwo drivers,, works ok on USB 2 had it running for two hours and used same trees for test,, could see the twig till it was near pitch dark,, trees were just a black shadow,, so it's a very sensitive camera,, -5.5 last night at 6pm and still got the cold and cold sores in too lip,, move over Quasimodo 😂

Who needs cooling in Scotland? The country cools the camera enough on its own

I had trouble running it on usb3 and found it was down to the cable, tried another usb3 cable and it worked fine, don't know why it would on one cable and not on another
