I was going to post the obligatory Trifid, but then saw Esk's NGC6726 and couldn't resist it - never looked at it before and its quite amazing. Mine's a much wider view so easier to do. Camera - ASI071 Telescope - 8" F5 GSO newt Mount - CGEM (no tracking) Focal Reducer/Barlow - none Filters - UV/IR (I think) Exposure length - 30sec Stacks - 10x Software - Sharpcap - capture. Astrotoaster - flat corrected, stacked and colour/levels adjusted Settings (Gain 60%, high saturation, etc) - gain 350; brightness 20; bin x2 Any Processing (on-the-fly, post-processing) - on-the-fly with above software. The image is a screen shot of what I got in astrotoaster. Conditions (80% Moon, windy, bad light pollution, etc) - 30% moon (but not risen yet), pretty clear. General Location (Town or area & State & Country) - northern Sydney suburbia (google map me = S 33deg 42'; E 151deg 8') Edit. And got the globular ngc6723 in there

Your shot is very good too. Maybe 5 seconds less of exposition than Chris, 10 stacks and some work with Astrotoaster makes the small difference.

Robert, mine is 10x30sec = 300sec, yours is 25sec. My single 30sec shots look much like yours. Its all in the stacking and astroaster processing.

Yes. I must say I like the image scale that your larger sensor produces.
I cruised around on Tuesday with the x0.8 reducer on my Newt. Looked at this one again and stacked a few. It was looking pretty good. Clouds rolled in before I got around to saving any pics.

Nice submissions everyone. And thanks for suggesting a reflection nebula Ken All good Chris I'd love to be able to make some entries in each months thread but I don't have any sky. When one has a telescope one needs sky to go with it. It's a matched pair! It seems I'm missing something from the package deal This thread will be closed in approximately 24 hours to give everyone time to post any late images The September thread - 'Globular Clusters' - is now open: astrovideoforum.proboards.com/thread/2283/september-2017-globular-cluster-month

I feel your pain Ken.
When I open Cloud Free Night it defaults to Victoria and the first place I see is Snake Valley - covered in cloud.
