Wow, interesting stuff Davy. Cool projects.
First I had to go into Wikipedia to find out what an Arduino is LOL! Then it sort of started to make sense.

Wow, interesting stuff Davy. Cool projects. First I had to go into Wikipedia to find out what an Arduino is LOL! Then it sort of started to make sense. I thought it was worth opening a new section on the forum, been looking round the web and there are a lot of folk posting stuff that is Astronomy related and I thought it would be beneficial for members and guests to see some of the projects available and to try and entice developers to post here with Astronomy related projects

Cheers Chris. Pretty supprised at the amount of different ways of using arduino,, once I get a working project , would be nice to get some ascom stuff implementated to make it more Astronomy friendly

Davy - its amazing how much there is - have had a quick look at what you've posted. ASCOM would be great. And looks like most have that. It would be good for me as I could run it from Sky Safari.
Looks like two separate projects: - the point and shoot that you were looking at in the first place. I'm going to use a nunchuk to drive it and write my own arduino code. - and more more complex GOTO system that can run via ASCOM (I might go with OnStep).
I'm gonna have a go. I've ordered a pile of the bits (except pulleys/belts) - but they will take weeks to come from China. Just looking for a cheap second hand mount I can destroy. This will be fun. Or a disaster - if it is I can blame you for getting me interested, ho ho ho !

Nice project for solar astronomers,, The electronics are nice and easy , a bigger pan and tilt device with a camera and lens with solar film, this could be very nice
