I really like the things revolutionimager do! Always coming up with stuff videastronomers EAA'ers ask for. Good price and turnkey solutions for a lot of bang for buck. Thanks for posting the info up Chris.

Would be nice to have a real starizona hyperstar though. But in Australia it would be $1200 plus delivery for an 8" sct and then more for an adaptor if the sct is not faststar ready.
Ouch!!!

That is very interesting Ken. Jim Thompson asked the same question twice on CN but never got an answer. That 2012 post explains a lot. Starizona still has a Meade 14 hyperstar on its website but it hasnt been available for a number of years. I love the hyperstar with 224 and 290 mono on the 6 se and wish I could give the funstar a go on my LX 90 8" and 10 ". I just cant get the same results on the Meades no matter what camera I use or what combination of focal reducers I use. That includes the optec .33, meade 3.3, meade 6.3 plus .5 in series. My 6se was hardly ever used before hyperstar. It was my first telescope but I liked the LX90's more. My 8" was the portable which was taken to our Club's dark sky site and the 10" remained setup in the pod using the Xtreme. Now I use the 6se the most. Hyperstar and the 224 seem to be made for each other.
I hope the funstar works well. If it does Meade will certainly then have to play catchup Paul
