I built a power box to house a Craftsman Marine Deep cycle battery since my jumpstarter batteries were quickly draining (I use a 24" LCD tv and a 200 watt power inverter). I've read the battery will deliver about 110 amp hours of power. I used scrap wood. The battery cost me $109 at Sears and the accessories cost about $35. It has two 12vdc power ports, 2 usb ports, a digital meter, and a 20 amp switch. It is a heavy beast though!

Well done Rob Just as a final touch you could mount a Solar Panel on the side (the other side to what I show might be better) It can recharge the battery (or at least keep it topped up) during the day ready for night time

My house is solar powered (7.2KW) so even plugged into the charger, it's getting solar. I do need to make the back panel open with a hinge though so I can more easily connect the charger. I bought some hinges but they weren't a good fit.

Nicely done, You should fit a set of wheels on it so you can wheel it about

Looks nice. I skipped the DIY and bought a plastic battery box and mounted power plugs and an inverter on it.

Good work Tim. I like the way you molded the plastic into just the right shape
