Last nights star party sunset setup. Timelapse shows only me setting up (the dude setting up the EQ mount at far left), and another dude who setup a push-to dob), plus the setting Sun, ending up with the crescent Moon and Venus showing itself. Second image is a still photo of some of the scopes setup when I first got there. Ended up 25 scopes.

Very windy last night up until 10:30pm when it stabilised somewhat, so early on I had to take ISO6400 8 sec shots and listen for the wind in the nearby tree's to die down for a bit before tripping off another shot for the AstroToaster stack. Quite laborious! In the last couple of hours post 10:30pm I was able to reduce to ISO800 and 30 sec shots for more signal (detail) in the shots. Most of the usual suspects in the images. www.flickr.com/photos/9440349@N08/albums/72157672352477861and if that link won't work then try this one ... flic.kr/s/aHskGirYQM

I am so jealous of those skies ! Did anyone take a sky quality meter reading, probably around 22 or higher?

Tim, we don't usually bother measuring it cos it's so good every night! Sorry Tim ... couldn't resist! I don't know the readings, but have asked on the clubs forum if anyone knows for sure. I would be interested to know too. In the North and stretching along the eastern horizon and down to about south-east is still big skyglow from the cities of Brisbane, Logan and on down to the wonderfully named city of Surfers Paradise ... that whole stretch has a bit over 2.5 million people and is about 60 km away. But overall its a great site only an hour and a half drive away from all that. If I hear back what sky quality was I will post it up. If you ever get down-under only too happy to catch up and head out.
