hi folks, looking to upgrade the equipment for the new season, looking to pull the trigger and buy a new mount, due to the poor weather im going for a multi purpose mount that is portable and can be used for photography as well. skywatcher allview with goto. this will be ideal for my portable set up,fitting my dslr and rigging to my laptop gives me one option. fitting my sw ed80 and dslr with laptop option two then modifying my multi camera array system and fitting it three cameras to the dovetail l bracket will give me tracking and three/four samsungs with lenses feeding into my 4 channel dvr.. fully adaptable portable set up

I started by looking at the sw virtuossa then the az goto mount but finaly I had to go with the allview it had too many pluses to ignore,,goto and remote firing of a dslr was a big factor the exposure times being done via the goto hand set was the overall clincher.. quick and easy set up ..can make it as big a set up as I need or a camera and mount..yeah im hooked on it

So you guy's agree with my choice.. It's the portability side im after..absolutely no point me getting a heq5 or 6 i have nowhere to use it at carols and overkill for my flat and the lp is murder.so its darker sites for me..so in bad weather it needs to a fast as possible to set up and dismantle.

I've heard good things too for its size/weight capacity.

I love my AVX for grab n go... a bit heavier I think, but not bad.
My problem is one of my setups is just too heavy for it, and when I look over at my SynScan I get the blues... never been able to make that thing work for me.

I know the feeling rick, my flat has really bad lp and have no storage at carols to keep my kit..so im down sizing my kit to more mibile options. The features on the allview crosses over the things I want to do astronomy and photography wise. I'm going to strip the cameras from my array and fit them to a bracket that can be mounted on the allview. For the new array. dslr on its own option, dslr on ed80 option,..hopefully work out fitting the off axis guider with two video cams..so plenty to get on with
