Yes, Dr. Dave does excellent work, and he pushes his gear to the max which is how it should be done I always enjoy seeing his Screen Grabs too in the Night Skies Network Facebook group. Wish he would join in here (yoo-hooooo, Dave, did you hear me)

triffid nebula and eagle nebula were not far away from the hubble images,,pillars of creation were out of this world.. This hobby is barely out of it's infancy. Wait until it has made it into the big time and there is money to be made by the creative people.. I have used the term a Hubble in my back yard a number of times. No doubt that has caused a few snickers with the experts but who really knows, I may still get the last laugh.

To be honest I dont care what they say. .ive watched kens broadcasts and he is a total showman, can hold the audience in awe with his broadcast skills..talking and working his scope n camera rig, and I always look out for his broadcasts..true professional. .last night I was taken somewhere quite different and was totally blown away..on the left of drdaves screen he had internet images of the statue if liberty nebula taken with the big boys toys and on the right his images and a big wow..left image 20hrs exposure ,,daves = minutes..and I stand by my opinion ..hubble quality. .cant wait to see more of this programme being used.. davy

I believe it is NJ Skies that also uses AstroToaster "live". I know people have issues with this method, but if you are patient while watching you can see some amazing images.

Dr. Dave is awesome! I learned a lot about the southern skies, much of which we can see here in Hawaii. Great just listening to him.

I havent used it yet..I believe as you say, your camera feeds live views and astrotoaster manipulates them with dss's engine to give end results..I've got as far as downloading both programs hopefully a bit of testing. Soon.

My understanding is that AstroToaster uses the DSS engine to do the stacking.
You designate a folder to land the images and setup AstroToaster to stack X number of images. The final, stacked image is then what is broadcast.
Basically, "near-live imaging" versus "live video". Depending on the exposure time per image and the number of images to stack, the viewer could be waiting a little bit for each update. That said, its not necessarily a super-huge jump from how some people use Miloslick (stacks x integration).
