Not being happy with my current array of cctv housings adorning the roof of my house, I decided to build a better camera enclosure. The design is based on a Ziggurat which is basically a flat topped Pyramid and will house 4 cameras. Each camera window has its own heater to prevent condensation.
The enclosure base is made from plywood and beech and the Ziggurat is acrylic sheet with 3mm glass windows. Hinged at one side and clasps on the other makes access to cameras quick and easy.
The angle of the sides is approx. 53 degrees which should give me a little freedom in the latitude angle of the cameras without affecting visibility through the glass. It would take too long to write the whole process here, but it took a lot of thought, a bit of hard work and very careful planning. (The careful planning was how to get it up there without the wife knowing.)

Below the enclosure is the flat roof of my shed. I keep a step ladder on the shed roof so I can get up to the cameras. When I open the top of the enclosure, it just lays back on the roof giving access to the cameras. The front windows are easy to clean, the back ones just a bit more of a stretch. I hope I never have to take it down as it was a bit of a feat getting it up there in the first place.

Well made Allan, but what's it for? Weather watch in 4 directions? Meteor recording?

Its for meteor capture in 4 directions Ken. The lenses I use only give a limited fov, so more cams are needed to cover a larger fov. Allsky cams and fisheye lenses are ok for weather watching and catching bright meteors, but because of the distortion, any sort of analysis is difficult, so we typically use 3.8mm- 6mm lenses. Hopefully I can now get a good view E,S.N and W without using 4 separate cctv housings.

Have you had any leakage problems with the wood part of it?
Looks excellent Allan!

Not yet Rick. It has had several coats of varnish and all joints are silicone sealed. The only slight ingress of water was at the join of the lid with the base during a storm last week, but I have a cure for that.
I've been testing it for a few days now and getting the cams aligned, and so far its working excellent.
