Hmmm tough call... i would prob say the moon! It was the first time i had seen it in my new scope. Had lots of fun that night just messing about with different cameras and settings A second close would be M82 a week or so ago! That was the most detailed view of a galaxy i have ever seen through my scope. Was stunned by it

Ohh has to be M51. Any time over the years using a scope the only galaxy I saw was Andromeda and it was a fuzzy at that. The first time I took my SW 150p out at the start of the year it went well, polar aligned and goto working great so I thought I would take the Sammy out for the first time to try. I was on M51 and when I worked out the focus etc the magic appeared on the screen, I couldnt believe it, a detailed galaxy on screen! I was just very lucky on the first night everything worked or it could have been another story. Hooked from then on. Heres the original after some tweaking.

My favourite Image was actually taken on the first night using my brand new DSLR. Until then I had only been using a Modified Phillips ToUcam for the previous 3 years for my DSO imaging. I excitedly connected this new Canon 350d, focussed, and started snapping away at Omega Centauri. To my surprise (and everyone else at Astro Camp) it turned out to be a mind-blower!!! To me, it is still my favourite DSO Image to date and I used that same DSLR for the next 3 years, until I took up Video. I have taken better Images since, but this one is my 'favourite'.
