2 nights ago I captured some great Live views of Comet Lovejoy, so I recorded some of the video and made it into a short You Tube. Have a look (If you click on the settings icon at the bottom of the video (the Gear Wheel that appears when you click 'Play') you can watch it in 1080pHD)

Nicely done, Ken. I am not familiar with that Mallincam, what sort of exposure/integration times, gain etc did you use? It is a pity that the clear nights this summer have been so infrequent, it has not allowed time to experiment with various camera's on any of my fast larger scopes. Guess you have had the same problems in SA?
Clear skies... Shevill

Thanks John and Shevill. Shevill, the Mallincam Xtreme model I have has the upgraded Standard Class 0 version ICX418AKL-A+ sensor (No hot pixels). For the Comet I used 30 seconds integration and the AGC was at level 5 (this camera goes up to level 8). Yes, clear nights have been far and few. I only had 2 clear nights in 6 months until last Friday. I have had 3 clear nights since then, so hopefully more to come. Shevill, I am not in SA, I am in Victoria where the weather is even worse than SA but not quite as bad as yours. You had had some terrible weather lately for Summer. Yes, I wish I had more clear nights to experiment more. I have more scopes to try. Here is a screen grab from the actual broadcast from that same night showing some of the camera and Integration details in the top left of the Video frame:
