I need a wide angle lens to fit my $40 LN-300 camera. 180 degrees at least. We are talking on the cheap here folks as I try ad make my own All Sky Cam. Any ideas or leads on this lens would be of help as I study the grand design situation here. LOL I have my dome and everything ready to go except this one item. Kind of a important one too. he he he Help me I'm cheap.
Thanks
Jim

Whilst a 180 deg lens sounds appealing, unless you are in a very isolated location, I suspect you might be better off with something with a bit narrower field of view. The problem would be blooming and lens flare from car lights, street lights, house lights etc. - leading to potentially a significant loss of contrast. Personally, if you want an all-sky camera and you live anywhere near extraneous lights, I'd go for something with a narrower field of view. Something with a FOV of 140 deg for instance would result in an overall increase in contrast by cutting out everything below 20 degrees above the horizon.

Hey John and Michael I went with this one which is the same one John pointed ,but payment is in dollars instead. tinyurl.com/nkdfuo9Michael I'm lucky I don't have to worry about lights. Just trees to some. 150 degree should do the trick. 10 buck gamble. I'll post images when I'm done. Thanks Jim
