At last, a decent sunspot to image and follow across the disc. The largest sunspot in the current cycle 24. Approx. fourteen times larger than earth and a little larger than the planet, Jupiter. This group has the potential for X-class flares, CME's and auroral activity at the polar latitudes. Keep your eyes open each night. Also reports coming in of seeing this group naked eye when skies dimmed by clouds or smoke/haze etc. Takahashi FS-102 APO, Mallincam SSI-L camera & software. Seeing not great as we have some rapidly changing weather patterns crossing the island State. Ha LUNT 60 single, BF 1200, same camera.
