Hi,
A while back someone asked how to remove the glass from inside the front of a commercial camera housing. Answer, sit it upside down in a non plastic dish, pour is some hydrocarbon solvent and let is soak, cover to slow down evaporation and do it outdoors. As most folks will not have access to Xylene, Toluene, Benzine, etc. Use petrol. Make sure it remains wet overnight. These types of rubber cements are usually hydrocarbon solvent. After a good soak, ease around the glas with pressure from the outside, and it will come out quite easily.

It was I Shevill. I did manage to remove the glass from both my housings by easing a craft knife through one edge of the seal and working it along. Once I had freed one edge, the glass came away intact with just a little pressure. The glass is now sealed onto the outside front of the housings.
