I think both would be good for lunar capture and maybe solar, but that's about it. The first one would seem to me to be the better option. I am avoiding HD for now as it would need a better HD DVR and maybe a Febon grabber, which I am not prepared to buy yet.

Hi, I have tried a FEBON USB-SDI converter, it is back in the drawer with a lot of other not very good image quality products. You only get what you pay for. To use HD-SDI at its full capability capturing video streams etc, needs some real PC horsepower and the HD-SDI interface with the same quality is not cheap. I have explored this path quite thoroughly and spent a lot of money in the process. There are maybe 3-4 people including myself with a Signature, I know of using such gear for astro applications in the Mallincam group. Clear skies... Shevill
