sorry john.. no coffee for you ... lol
yes Dman. i couldnt pass it up ... for the $125us i paid for it.. even if used for visual only.. 5 EPs 6 to 40. filters. a good LP filter from orion. better then the one i had lol .. will i sould say 145. i gave the guy xtra 20 bucks for his gas. he meet me half way . hours drive for both of us..
i fixed the wire as the one givin didnt fit the plug. and i tossed her at the moon. tracked it good for a guess inhouse polor alignment.. iam goin to get a goto alt/az for it tho.. and found a local guy for that 200 with saddle and tripod.. so will be around 325 total.
and the high humidty shows up lol grrrrr

will got the c8 on a goto . did some test runs tonite.. and i be darned she does good.. 40 mins on the upper side of the double. held it good. i now have bascily the C8 goto and celestrons tripod.setup.. got rid of the wedge and forks. guy gave me 100 bucks so couldnt pass that up . that helped pay for the 6.3 reducer and dove tail . so i run the 6.3 and a .5 antairs FR. i think this scope will make good on really deep dsos. so for 400 bucks for scope , goto mount , tripod , 6.3fr , dovetail. i cant complain to much .. the only issue iam having is vignette. i dont like how the back focal adpture is .. 1 set screw to hold. have to maybe get a used gso sct focser.. i didnt give up the refactor end of it. iam plain now for still in the 80 to 100mm area.. and mount to the or not mount to the c8 so on .. and my cam setup also..i think i need a better style cam.. something but not sure yet what one. so looks like a 3 scope setup.. edit: i got to wondering. how do i tell FOV ? here is what this thing see's on the moon. is there a way to find the fov? anyways off to dream land..

A really easy quick & dirty method is to remember that the Moon is half a degree wide (30 arcminutes). Look at your moon and see how much of it is in the frame. Going by your posted image my guess is that you are somewhere around 20 arcminutes x 15 arcminutes

johnno: shhhh dont tell noone tho ok ... lol
Dman: not much on DSO with that kind of FOV.. i went after the double last nite. i can only see one part at a time. top or bottom . but not both.
iam thinking this scope may or may not be good for really deep space. ive seen i think Don on NSN with the c8 and he is smokin with his.. but again its smaller deeper dso's i think he was after.
will if i can get my big dob sold. ill be getting a refactor.
ooo the fun .. it is soo much funn...

Strange that your FOV is so tight considering you are using two focal reducers. But it will be great on small Planetary Nebulas Yeah, a short focal length Refractor will compliment it nicely. Anything 600mm fl and shorter would be good.
