my advice is hold on to your money..as you said the stuff you are looking at is more a/p although quite a bit of the info and technology can be interchangeable you need to sort out the main components or it can cost you more in the long run.i know this from experience. .when I started there was not a lot doing video on sgl it was a ghost site. the basics.. a tracking mount two scopes if you want to jump between deep sky or planetary in my opinion no one scope is ideal I would recommend a short tube fast scope a doublet or triplet if its in your budget the reason for this is in my opinion again...coma...less time processing images on the computer. it may come across aye its ok for him..but no im not rich or a lottery winner just a grease monkey who fixes cars for a living I have bills to pay like everyone else.and try and buy cheap and wisely. and make no apology for it.. so if I can save you money with my advice I will if you are not shure what you want please keep asking questions here..there are no dumb questions but various answers. .it depends on on preferences mainly yours..dont jump in.davy

when you put the samsung scb2000 on a scope it is equal to using a 6mm eyepiece . im looking at using the cameras without a scope. for myself im looking at capturing more of the night sky the weather here has been poor so im looking at the scenario of more fixed cameras with various lens's. .check out the dragonfly project. .shevill is looking at this concept as well. . more cameras set up slightly differently from each other pointed at a target and who knows the outcome. .but im betting it will be an eye opener..sometimes you have to be a shepherd rather than a sheep.. starting out is hard.i found when i had a little money I wanted to blow it right away on astronomy kit,my daughter says not another scope.. im looking at i can control more cameras easier than scopes and cheaper.. a goto mount £250 then a scope say £150 camera £100 sundries £50 soon mounts up. fixed camera and lens and sundries £200 and less grieff..

there it is again lol ... i was looking at the cam lens deal also. lol
the goto mount i have would be great for cam lens setup.. ill have to look around maybe for a used what ? 200mm verible maybe. then i get thinking. maybe a used c6se or 8 bein that is better optics then this 127 by a long shot..
but your right on the money .. its hard not to go over the edge fast lol .. ok so that scope not the one for me. over to the cam lens and see what i can get into there lol .. o boy
i guess i need to just "slow down" lol

same advice ..slow down..ok lens wise same again ,I have two,,2mm to 8mm made by Honeywell its a wide angle fast lens, manual focus, manual iris this will capture a wide field of view..i also have a 10mm to 60mm zoom lens this is auto iris manual focus..its all about capturing photons let the camera do the work use the sense up function it is like a slow shutter on a dslr,,the fainter the object the higher the sense up (intregration)is what you need........you have aperture fever,,lol,,look for fast scopes or lenses ,suggest a book to get... deep sky video astronomy by steve massey and steve quirk, pricey but to me its the video astronomers bible.... www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-3-CCD-F1-4-2-5mm-Wide-Angle-CCTV-Lens-CS-for-Security-Camera-/290928971618?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item43bcb7cf62www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-8mm-12mm-1-3-Format-F1-4-Aperture-CS-Mount-Auto-Iris-CCTV-Camera-Lens-/290935769923?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item43bd1f8b43.davy

your 100% right i have fever for sure.. its just me.. i sort of do this with everything. i raced rc cars. did the same thing 1000s on them .. nuts lol real cars. samething lol the sense up i noticed but again iam starting out. it seem to slow the video down. so i guess thats what its pos to do. so learned something new tonite. awsome ty ty .. ill have to try it higher then 7. i tink it goes to 15 on the sammie if im in the rite thoughts.
went to park today to do some solar. guy walks over with a brand new canon mark 3 or 4 i think he said. ISO 25,000 yes 25,000 he said.. one of there newest cams. was 3 grand us. and a 2500 dollar lens.. i asked if he wanted to trade my whole setup. laptop to.. he didnt take offer lol . he wants to get into the astro side also. i said all you need is to point that puppy up . he said no way.. i said yeah u will do 1000 times better then i can. lol
i might look around seen a few used long lens on site for 50 to 100 bucks or ask a friend if i can borrow a lens or 2 from him. he has them high dollar canons and lens. he might have some old junk layin around.. ill just have to buy a c/cs to canon lens adt.
thank you for the get off my horse info davy . lol off to mess with some videos i got. maybe grab a few tonite. clear skys says so so for a few hours. might go for easy stuff.
cheers off to shot the sky..

My first goto scope was the Meade DS2090. Pretty sure it's the same OTA as above. 90mm 800mm FL. I had nothing to compare it to at the time so I loved it. But since upgrading first to a 5" MAK then again to a 8" SCT. The later two were far better than the 90mm. If I was you... Save up as much cash as possible! You really need a GOTO scope mate! Buy second hand! It's almost impossible to lose money that way! I've bought and sold 3 scopes so far... All used. I've made a profit with everyone I sold! Astronomers take great care of their toys! So most used things are in great condition
