Hi, Is a Meade LPI (Lunar, Planetary Imager) classed as a video device if frames are captured when in video mode, frames per second?

Yes Shevill, as far as I know it would be. I included the Meade LPI on the 'Equipment' page of my Video Astronomy website as a form of Video astronomy: ballaratman.wix.com/videoastronomy#!eqipment/c10mq All webcams are Video cameras, and the Meade LPI and Celestron NexImage are just webcams. They both have the exact same sensor and internals as the Philips ToUcam & 900NC but are purpose made for Telescopes by fitting a built-in Nosepeice.

Great info page for beginners getting into this field, plenty to choose from. These days the range is expanding all the time and so much easier than self modifying web cams in days of old!
Added some LPI images to my page. Just had a cold front pass over dropping more snow on the hill and a quick 5.0 mm rain on our ever parched block.

Thanks Shevill. I have spent today and tonight adding a section to the 'About Video Astronomy' page explaining how easy it can be to start doing Video Astronomy. It is entitled 'How Easy is it to do Video Astronomy?'It is an attempt to explain how simple it can be and how it works. I realised that in the website I show lots of equipment, photos of objects, and videos etc, but I didn't show 'How' to do it. So that was today's task. I hope it helps more people get interested in taking it up I start them with the most basic methods. Often tutorials can make things seem over-complicated.
