I saw a link to this Lens (?) a few days ago. Sent the manufacturer an email, but made no sense to me. Could a couple of the resident experts here, go to the link and comments back to this post on what they think it is (maybe a miniature telescope ?). It is call a PALS. Thanks Patrick www.siebertoptics.com/Camera%20Focus%20Adapters.html#New%20Super%20CCD

Looks like a large aperture fast lens is all. looks like a t-thread mount. no mention on site about the optics, but i see lots of CA, so prob just achromatic lenses.

Well I would love a lens that shows m45 that size with a tree in the frame. Think the alarm bells should go off with that one!!

They are advertised as an "Astrograph", 1" to 4" in size. Not sure how it will focus and Pics do not look so good to me. The 3" (73 mm) or the 4" (100 mm) would seem to make a great portable set up with a mini tower or some small mount like that. Maybe with a solar filter might be something to look at the sun with. Any more comments WELCOMED. Thanks Patrick New Super CCD (PALS) or (P)hoton (A)cceleration (L)ens (S)ystem. Simply connect it stand alone (No Telescope Needed) to the front Of your CCD camera and take images of the sky at x5 --- and with 30-60 second exposures get results just like these.
4 sizes available : More product pictures to come.
24mm Dia by 37mm F.L. F1.5 $249
48mm Dia by 72mm F.L. F1.5 $299
73mm Dia by 195mm F.L. F2.67 $349
100mm Dia by 450mm F.L. F4.5 $599

One problem I see is, how do you add a filter?

The Orion nebula isn't very good!
A $49 Happy Snap pocket camera held up the an Eyepice can do a lot better than that, and I have seen it done!
Not very impressive photos, any of them.

Agree Ken, lots of CA present and not impressive for the times. A lot of money for a wide angle lens. I think a purposed SLR lens would produce better images
