I've got a mpclient.dll and a epp.msi file missing from my win7 OS 64bit , need it to install MSE and I cant find a replacement anywhere. Any chance someone can see if they've got it on their machine and copy it here. thanks John

Maybe if you were speaking English I'd know what you just said I didn't understand any of that except that if someone has one can they copy it here One of what I'm not sure, but it sounds like you need one. I have Win7 x64 bit, but that's about all I understood. (as you might have guessed, I don't speak geek)

John check your email that you used for this forum. Sent you one of the dll files. its location was in c:\Program Files\Windows Defender
I have 22 dll files tho. So tell me what location the missing one is meant to be in and I can send you it if I have it.

Cheers Chris, I've installed the mpclient.dll you sent but its still not working. I've tried it in all the possible locations I think it should be. Microsoft help is a waist of time and I'm not the only one with this problem and I don't have system restore enabled, the only solution left is a fresh install and I really don't want to do that

I'm not sure that you can just copy DLLs into a folder... they have to be registered to be "seen" by the OS.

Looks like your right Rick, tried everything to get it to install, somehow I think a windows reference folder as been deleted, I think the only way to fix it is edit the registry manually or do a fresh install, or I could use another program instead of MSE
