Hi Group Captured the SN in M106 on NSN live using my VRC10" @ F3.2 & MCX2 video camera. This was a live image with no post processing capturing 3 x 40 seconds exposures. Looks like the SN is getting brighter with each passing night. www.flickr.com/photos/47296963@N08/14323777294/Chris A Astrogate

Yes, nicely done Chris. Shame I can't even get a clear night to look for it. Looks like clouds for the whole week.

Thanks Chris, very nice display of how it has brightened. I can't see it from here as it only reaches 4 degrees above my horizon. You have captured it very well, considering this is what the 'Virtual Telescope' website has to say about it: "This object, officially designed as SN 2014bc, is a very difficult one to see, because it is just a few arcseconds from the bright nucleus of the hosting galaxy. For a secure identification, high resolution images are needed."and their 29 May 2014 high resolution 8 x 420 second stack from a PlaneWave 17 Telescope on a Paramount ME robotic mount doesn't even show it up! Yet I have seen it in Screen grabs from a couple of Video Astro cameras in the last 2 days. Looks like a good example of how Video Astronomy cameras can get LOTS of info fast. Well done Chris.

I just wanted to thank Allan, Chris and Ken for having a look at my image and for the kind words. Ken it still amazes me just how sensitive this camera is.
Cheers Guy's

Nice capture Chris. I grabbed one last Friday. It is hard to determine where it is exactly. It may become more apparent as it begins to dim.

Hey thank you very much Dwight and great to see you here. Cheers, Chris A Great to be here Chris. Too bad about this SN being so close to the nucleus. I see on Malincam yahoo you said you used lots of APC. I will give that a try with the big eye and see if I can get separation. The usual bad seeing I have doesn't help. I used F4 on the C14, perhaps I will try F5 for some scale.....cheers ......Dwight

Thank you very much Dwight and yes it can not hurt to try a higher APC to see if the SN can be spotted near the core. Have fun!

Thank you very much Karl. Yes collimation is a very important step and will make a big difference not only with your images but when observing.
Cheers,
