Sup guys heres one for yous... Does anyone using miloslick (or other software capable) remove the dark frames?
Ive tried but it didnt work out well.
Would it be worth running outside and putting the cap on if each time you get a good object then remove the dark to make it much better?

You might be able to make master darks for different exposures and you would have to update them every once in a while. I'm not very familiar with milo so you have experiment.

Nope, sorry Chris. I haven't tried. Not really interested in trying either. It's getting to complicated I'm happy to spend the 2 seconds clicking on 'Stack' and a few more seconds fiddling with Brightness, Contrast etc, but I honestly couldn't be bothered mucking around taking darks and working out how to remove them, and they'll be different for most objects. That's why I gave up Imaging and fell in love with Video. No darks, post-processing etc. Just simple stuff done easily, and 'Live'

Tim i did try that a while ago. i.e i saved a few different darks of 15 sec, 30 sec, 45 sec etc. Then used that same exposure setting on an object and used milo to remove it. But i found that it didnt work because the darks had to be not only the same exposure but also the exact same brightness, contrast etc. So it didnt work out. There seems to be a long list of conditions to meet to make it useful. Might not be worth the hassle. Ken i know what you mean its adding yet another complication into the mix. But if it turns out that if i just pop outside and put the lens cap on for 1 exposure then use milo to remove that. In theory it should mean i get no amp glow, hot pixels and less noise right? Im always out playing with something or smoking anyway so not too much hassle. Will try next time i get out and see how i get on

When i take darks i don't subtract them until I stack the images using DSS.
