things didn't go to plan tonight , while I was setting up the bloody Crayford focuser slipped with camera on the end and because the scope was in a vertical position the camera went flying to the ground and smashed the ir filter. Wish they would make a nose piece with a groove in it so it can't detach from what ever it is attached to, in my case the flip mirror which has a groove in it and stayed on the focuser.
just finished putting the focuser back together, when I stripped it down found the Teflon pad had come away from the V pad that makes contact with the spindle so it was just free wheeling so I super glued the Teflon strip to the V pad, think I might have to get a replacement focuser to be on the safe side.
Anyway on a lighter note, while I was broadcasting today a pigeon came and landed on my counter balance weight and crapped down one of my tripod legs and into my battery box, wish I had a gun handy because it would of ended up in the pot
my fault really because the bird feeder table was only 6ft away
and it was only yesterday I was watching Ken's video on how to make a reducer and he was fitting a elastic band on his camera to stop this from happening, I thought at the time, I'll have to do that, and look what happens, usual case, you shut the gate after the horse has bolted

Tim that's what I have on my flip mirror and that's what the camera nose piece was attached to, they don't work all that good or should I say they don't work at all.
you'll see in the two photo's the 2'' adapter has a groove so it can't slide out of the focuser, but the other end the 1.25 adapter has the compression ring and 2 thumb screws and the camera slid out of that one, the compression rings are really for centering whatever you fit to it.
forgot to add I did the draw tube mod while I had it in pieces and it also smashed my wireless transmitter, but not that bothered they are only £6 on amazon

Oh wow. Using one those was the only way I can keep my camera from moving around.
I can see what your saying about a notched nose piece.
I hope you can fix the issue.
