Hey Guys, Now that i have 3 cameras on my rig i feel i can justify getting a dvr. And after watching Karls broadcasts im really impressed by how he has it working. I currently have a cheap 'wee switcher thing' that changes my av-in. But with that i can only see one cam at a time. And when i change cams i constantly need to change software settings to get the view right. I want it so each cam can have its own individual settings. Looking about ive come up with this. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-Channel-H-264-Full-D1-CCTV-Video-Surveillance-Security-Network-DVR-Recorder-/251397259697?pt=UK_CCTV&hash=item3a8871c1b1I know Davy and others have had a nightmare getting the dvr's working right. So wondered what you's thought of this one. This should connect up to my pc fine right?

Looks like a functional unit, just realize it does not come with a Hard Drive, so make sure you buy one seperatly

The dvr is a good idea ..only probs I have is the instructions are useless ..I cant get it to transfer from dvr hard drive via usb to a usb memory card or via a lan router..the image capture is bang on and you can view it back through the dvr

Looks good Chris> I love mine I must say. I also use it for security (my selling pitch to get it in the first place!) but for broadcasting it works excellent. I do need to add a few cams later on so my jump up to an 8 channel. The only thing I have not sussed out yet is if it degrades the image in any way. The way I do it is by have all 4 cameras feed into the DVR. This then feeds to a cheap monitor (another thread for this soon!) which then feeds back to the Dazzle video grabber. I'm happy with the results but wonder if I can get it better.

Had a go using this with my 3 cams tonight. Seems ok so far. Not worked out the network side of it yet tho. Can tell thats gonna be brutal. My scopes need aligned with each other lol This is using the CBVS output on the dvr into the dazzle grabber using a rca cable. The resolution didnt seem right... When i used the vga output straight into a monitor it was super clear. I think i need some way of using the vga output into the grabber....if thats possible...

How handy is that Scope cam eh!
For me, all cameras go into the DVR. The DVR out goes into the monitor and then the monitor out goes to the dazzle. My monitor is rubbish and stretches the image but Milosclick somehow straightens it up again. That said I'm sure if I got a better monitor and worked out the correct settings the image would be much better. I am currently looking at the Mallincam monitor for my birthday! The best images I used to get where via my TV so I'm am thinking with the Mallincam monitor and an upscaler I may be able to get a similar image quality to broadcast.
Anyway looking great mate and a wicked FOV with the scope cam!

Haha yeh cheers man the scope cam has already proved its worth! Last night i was looking at m81 i think...then seen a wee bit of clouds in the corner of the screen. Checked out side and there was the meanest looking clouds ever rolling in from the other side of the sky lol. I packed up rapidly and got my gear in...2mins later the heaviest rain ever comes down haha.
Sounds good on the mallincam monitor mate!

Update on this. Got it connected up to the network. So i now just view the dvr/cameras in the browser (only works with IE) and its MUCH clearer! No need for a video grabber. Now i just use manycam (looking at my browser) and select manycam as my video device in miloslick.

Further update on this...ignore my last comment...using that configuration im seeing the old miloslick issue where the image moves around inside the preview screen....back to the drawing board lol

Davy I may have jumped the gun on connecting to the network thing lol. I can connect to the dvr through the browser when using the ethernet cable into the pc. Not managed wireless yet mate. Struggling with connecting with the iPhone or other devices.... They make it sound so easy on the box lol!
To connect to the dvr i had to mess around with the firewall settings on the pc. Then go into the dvrs menu and turn "DHCP" on. That then gives you a ip address. Type that ip address into Internet explorer (no other browser works it seems) and login to the dvr.
The grabber took 2 days to arrive mate

I got this through today and can confirm that it works great! Plugged it into the 'vga out' on the DVR into 'vga in' on this gadget and then the 'S-video out' into the grabber. Much much better quality compared to using the 'cvbs out' on the dvr into the grabber! Edit: It also has a OSD menu giving you some extra control over brightness, contrast, hue, sharpness etc.
