Finally managed to get it mounted on the LX90. I really think im pushing the weight limit lol with the dovetail/rings, cameras, scope, cables, counter weights... its starting to add up! Still messing around trying to balance it. Hopefully some decent weather soon so i can test it out Heres how its looking so far

Nice, you will enjoy having a wide FOV for those big targets.

I know the feeling! Grin from ear to ear! I still get it. Try it on the Witch Head Nebula IC 2118. It's enormous at 3 degrees x 1 degree. Then the whole Fornax Cluster. And my favourite Abell Galaxy cluster Abell 1367 (centred on NGC 3842). Also Abell 1703, and large chunks of Galaxy fields in Coma Berenices. That's enough to get you started

After poor planet views last night I decided to try some DSO's with the 70mm. First with the 0.5 reducer but I couldn't come up with any huge objects to look at so everything was just too small! So removed the reducer and had a go at M81 & 82. I think I defo prefer the views without a reducer.
Heres a short video I took using the mcx and 70ED @ f/6

You have almost the perfect FOV without the reducer. I'm planning on using my 80mm at about f3.78 So it will be somewhere in between your 70mm f3 and 70mmf6. I plan to run at 302mm. your setup at f6 is 420mm and 210mm at f3. My last scope a 4.5" running at f2 was about the same FOV and I think I got much more detail albeit small than with my VRC6. Nothing beat the shorter exposure times and wide fields IMO. I'm not much for hunting down planetaries and small galaxies. I like the big colorful nebula's Hemmi

I agree with you on this Chris, I use my Equinox Ed 80 without the reducer and it gives a very nice FOV.

Just wait another month or so when the big southern nebula are up. You will love the FOV more

One thing i really like is how i can get much longer exposures without star trails. On the sct in alt/az its around the 50-55 sec mark i see them. But the other night i pushed it up to 2mins and just started to see them with the 70ed.
