So the weather forecast for Wednesday midday looks great for a solar cast. Hoping to put the Luntmonster into service and give it a workout. Check in on NSN around Midday UTC and you may get a view.

I keep a check on solar activity on several nasa sites and saw today that there is a spectacular prom coming around the limb. This may be linked to the previous big spot. I hope so as it was extremely active.
The forecast for Wednesday midday is still very good, so I will have the scope out and warmed up for an up close and personal solar session. Keep checking after 11am UTC. I will be on at some point.

Huh, forecast for today was crystal clear skies. Guess what.
Waiting for some gaps.

same here, didn't get to bed till 4am and got up at 9.30am. Had me feet up on the computer desk laid back into the chair watching Chris broadcast and fell asleep, when I woke up he had buggered off, only me left on channel, what a plonker thinking we would have clear skies this morning it was for about 15mins while I was having a cuppa, and now there is a few specks of rain. think i'll go back to bed
the forecast here is rain for the next 4 days

well the weather forecast was not exactly accurate with clouds being a bit of a nuisance, but I did manage a few good moments to see the spot groups and proms. I took one screen grab which I will post in the proper forum later.
It was my first real solar session this year and I was a bit out of practice, but I enjoyed it.

Its the first time I've watched live solar viewing, and thanks Allan for explaining how you go about using different settings to get the different viewing effects
