thanks shevill. So as a real idiots guide, the red goes to the positive battery terminal, the black goes to the negative terminal, and the yellow just goes down the centre core of a bnc or coax connector, or even an rca connector. Just seems too simple.

Hi Allan,
I got one but took it down recently to nick the cable! The quality of the image I have to say was stunning! I had it connected to the TV so I could watch with the kids but never got so much as a fly in the darn box! I'll try and dig out the details tomorrow.

In a nutshell, Yes. Here is what they look like with finished connectors for example, this is a little different in that it is one with a serial digital interface (SDI) high definition 1920x1080p, but the wiring follows the same protocols. Clear skies... Shevill

I've searched high and low but can not find the receipt to show where I bought the camera!! However, I think it was this one www.handykam.com/Wildlife-camera-systems/Colour-700-line-SONY-CCD-high-resolution-camera-kit-with-20m-of/flypage.tpl.html Also, the image is of my TV showing the inside of the box. The base is about 4" x 4" to give you an idea and it was pitch black the night I took this so you get an idea of how good the IR is. I'm going to build a hedgehog box next as I may have more luck!

thanks Karl. When you put the birdbox back into action in AUTUMN, put some hay in the bottom. You may get a winter lodger who will use it as a roost at night and then use it for his nest site in the spring. you have to make it an attractive dwelling. Part furnished is better than unfurnished to a young sparrow on the breadline.

It will be nice to see a bird in there Davy, but I suspect it may be a while. I've just checked the box on the tv again, and its just like daylight in there. Those little IR led's sure do a good job.
