Good topic Chris, I too have been looking at Barlow lenses recently. I have a cheap orion 2x that looks like it was made with magnifying glass out of a cracker jack box. Views are disgusting. It works ok visual, but with a camera its trash. Views are blurry, inconsistent from edge to edge, etc.
I too would like to know what Barlow work well with our cameras.
You would think they could make something that could screw directly on our camera barrel similar to a reducer. I would think any name brand APO or ED barlow would work fine, but I too would like to see and hear from users there experience before wasting cash.

I have a SW X2 deluxe and a GSO X3 ED, had them over 12 months and maybe only used them once or twice but never for video so I cant give a opinion on them.
same goes for the EP's since I've been doing video I just don't use them except for the X hair 12.5 illuminator that's always in my flip mirror

Ah the hunt for perfection comes at a cost,, sorry guys but I love this type of discussion, ,, getting more into joe the toff astrophotography market now...so lets imagine ..you have a 8" lx90 and a very nice mallincam that is captured to a modest £300 laptop and images are tweaked in freeware software and gets a good image..so where next a better laptop and better software = slightly better image..then maybe my clutch drive slips a wee bit with weight on tracking ok thats prob a must have mod / upgrade = another wee bit better image wise..thing is you could spend thousands and have kit on par with astrophotography. .where do the costs stop in relation to the image quality. .if its no broke leave it or mod it is my view..

I have 2 barlows and I've never tried them for Video, so I don't know if they are any good for Video or not. I like wide field anyway I have the GSO 2" 2x barlow, and an AOS 1.25" 2x Barlow. The GSO is fairly good for visual and the AOS is hopeless.

I expect Chris like myself are is search for better planetary views. In my 10" f5 Dob jupiter is still only a dot. Saturn is so tiny that it looks like a oblong star.
Personally I think I need a set of barlow lenses from 2x - 4x. But they don't come cheap.

Yep looking to get up close and personal with big jup, saturn and the moon My current barlow is a total banger! Spoiled the views of the moon for me last night. I think this is the only eyepiece worth investing in. Correction on the Celestron xcel lx barlow above... I think it is at least a ED as its 3 element. Either way im sure will be just as good as the others. I have a xcel lx eyepiece and its a wee tank! Very well build. I have read some reviews and the Revalation 2.5x (rebranded GSO) gets very good reviews. For £32 cant go too wrong i think.

This is quite interesting, I always use mine on the planets and had a go at the Moon last night. I was practically on the darn thing. I recon this would be staggering with a decent Barlow, clear and still night with good seeing. That said if ever I get conditions this good I know I'll probably be out or busy! My bad luck with the weather is relentless! Crystal clear last night but too windy, dead calm tonight but now cloudy despite the clear skies forecast! Anyway back on topic I think I may take a look at the revellation or even the Mallincam one looks good.

Just uploaded Jupiter taken with SW 150p and 2X supplied Barlow (LN300). Reflectors are not good with planets due to the lack of mag but the seeing was excellent, heres what I got, when viewing go hit the Youtube button and view in large player (third button bottom right) it looks like it did in the scope the link here dosnt. They work very well but the seeing has to be good. Cant fault the free one.

I could be wrong... but the mallincam one looks just a wee bit similar to the gso / revelation one Call me sceptical I would guess they make them for Mallincam but I would imagine it would not have the same lenses. That said the GSO looks great and may be my next purchase!
