I had every intention of Imaging the Fornax Galaxy Cluster tonight, but the cloud had other ideas I haven't been able to connect Drizzling to Maxim DL yet, so tonight I wanted to try manual Drizzling: Take an image, move the scope about 5 pixels, take another image, move the scope another 5 pixels etc etc. So, the imaging run started great, with me managing to get 4 frames in the Red channel. So far so good. Then while I was imaging in the Green Channel that's when the Clouds decided not to play fair So not to be hindered, I stacked the 4 Red frames to see if the manual Dithering had worked. BINGO!!!! It did! I no longer have horrible black and white Vertical lines on my images. (you don't usually see them on my posted images because I clone them out) Here's what they normally look like: But Drizzling manually got me a far better result. NO LINES!!! I present the Fornax Galaxy Cluster, normal and annotated in 'Astrometry' (without vertical lines) 4 X 300 second RED frames, stacked in Siril. annnotated in nova.astrometry.net

Great outcome, I think the ability to take images without those pesky lines would be very satisfying. Nice photo Ken.

Thanks Mike. Yeah, they are really annoying and it takes ages to Clone them out. Now I just have to work out how to get Dithering to connect in MaximDL so it does it automatically.

Been busy trying to save the Bendigo East pool . Tonight is first chance at the sky for ages. Decided on Fornax and Eranidus galaxies and then saw this post. I have a list and will see how I go with the zwo533mm and the Rasa8. I hope I remember how. The plate solving with sharpcap and stellarium is pretty straightforward until I control it from my bungalow which then requires another 2 screens controlled by radmin. Will see how it goes. If there is no joy, I have a bottle of red on standby cheers Paul
