Ouch! Though my problem here is a big increase in light pollution, knowing what I know now I wouldn't have built the observatory. Though if I bought the same obsy now it would cost around 2.5x the 2013 price. The local council has installed downward facing street lights but it is security lights on houses that are the real problem. It gets better after 10pm but sometimes your target has already gone.
I didn't realise how much of a problem light pollution was until I went to a dark site. Thanks for posting the video Ken.
