Sharpcap announced on their Facebook page that they will now offer different license terms for the Pro version (from the post with my USD conversions as of this date): It's now possible to buy a 5 year license and a lifetime license as well as a 1 year license. As previously 1 year is just £10, (~$14) 5 years is £40 (~$56) Lifetime (actually issued for 1000 years) is a bargain at £80 or only 8p per year (~$112) Licenses can be purchased from store.astrosharp.co.uk/Read about SharpCap Pro features www.sharpcap.co.uk/sharpcap/sharpcap-pro/sharpcappro

I like Sharpcap. It's not as easy to learn as Starlight Live but the features it brings are pretty incredible. Since moving to the subscription model, he's really pumping out the features. Robin updated his website as well. It's easier to find out about how to use the new features. www.sharpcap.co.uk/

Just waiting for DSLR support ... and will purely use for the fast stacking compared to DSS/Toaster But I will have a grumpy old man moment ... LOL Some good things in it, and dont mind Robin making a quid out of it at all cos its great stuff and he isnt overpricing at all. But ... its getting a tad complicated for me now. Plus my main beef ... Nearly all the NSN broadcasts are now like watching live AP with heaps of stacking and darks and flats and 20 or 30 minutes staring at a slowly building and tweaked image ... !! Yes, I know I don't have to use the features but knowing what to click is getting tough to figure. And thank God for Mega Bob and Hawaiin Don for their fast VA broadcasts ... a couple of old skool quick images guys. Grumpiness over LOL ... cheers

Yeah I saw the Facebook post about sharpcap,, and when my licence expires on the pro version will be getting a new one definitely can't grudge robin a pay day will probably go for the lifetime ,, hardly used it this year due to weather but for the £10 it's a bargain,, and yeah the software is getting a touch complicated but for what I'm going to use it for hopefully won't need all the fancy stuff, will be using it with the zwo178 and the canon lenses,, going to start of with the 50mm f1.4 and then go for a 80 to 200mm f1.4 ,, eventually,, going by the video this is the type of video astronomy I want to do fast near live views,, yes I will probably stack just to see what can be achieved,, and like Howie will do a bit of ap,, dslr, filters, byeos astrotoaster,, Haven't seen a broadcast in a long time and really miss them,, kinda put off as I don't want to watch astrophotography but fast live astronomy taking a dive in that direction just now,, But I can guarantee it will swing back to fast live video,,, it's all getting too complicated and time consuming,,if you have an observatory great,,if not the weather is going to beat you. It keeps getting skipped over but climate change is having a big input in astrophotography and this is why u believe we should be looking at getting back to basics video,, it may have a bit to do with the sun's solar cycle Last I heard the 11 year cycle was inaccurate,, hopefully the weather trend over the last five years will break. Just my opinion on things

Have a few bids in on some fd lenses f1.8,, now if I get these,, and I get better light gathering than the video I will be doing somersaults in the back garden,, how good will that will I can only imagine, even sticking one on the dslr and doing ap on the canon 450d modded camera,, phew ,, it's all in the pipeline

So true Howie and Davy. I have given up going to NSN as it has become an Astrophotography broadcast site. I have sat and watched broadcasts that don't change for over 20 minutes! What's 'Live' about that? The image is stacking without any further improvement. Often there's no commentary either. Snore!
Same with the NSN Facebook page. Full of Astrophotography. Boring as Batshit. It has turned me off broadcasting. Now I just do my own thing and view for myself and visitors to our observatory.
And I don't mean change objects every few seconds or minutes like I was accused of in CN. I mean that if you are going to show an object for more than 10 minutes, at least do a commentary about it, zoom in, do something, before viewers go to sleep!

I probably wouldn't broadcast myself primarily for that reason (plus my upload speed is marginal). I'm not that talkative. It's not bad if the crowd is involved, but yeah, it can get pretty boring if no one is talking even if it's short exposures.
