Hi All,
well as some may have seen in my Celestron CPC thread it has been a long journey to get to the point of taking images. First i would like to thank Ken and specifically Howie
for all your advice and Howie for your you tube clips which i watched over and over again.
Last night i went out to try to get some images , but i did pick a poor night seeing was terrible bad transparency and really windy. LOL why bother!
But I had everything finally in place and my new laptop .
So I playde around with some star drifting which I had been meaning to do for a month to get my polar alignment better but once i got no drift in a 5 min period that was close enough for me.
So I set the camera up , i did use my f.7 reducer on my scope Celestron CPC 800 HD. See my other thread for photos. Now really ithis was a hit and miss affair, I used Canon EOS utility tools, and Astrotoaster.
With these images only single shots no stacking. exposures where 1.3min and I think the M 79 was a minute. ISO 3200 .
you can judge the images as you like first go.
I had a real problem with the whole experience. this to me was not Video Astronomy it was still a very simple form of imaging. BUT this is not what i was really after I want live views of objects on my screen to replace my eyepiece .
Yes with the Moon and Planets i will use live view and that's great, but for DSO work i wanted a live view and what I did this to me was not what I wanted. Just because I took a image of the Orion nebula I could have just googled one and been happy. Yes I know I took the photo but it did not wow me.
So I need advice on a camera that will give that live image ?? the DSLR wont do that.
anyway here are my images from last night poor really but a start and maybe even a finish!
