Could someone explain the upscaling device that rock is selling please. mallincam.tripod.com/id15.htmlHow would this effect our views? Would it only apply if your using a hd TV? And im assuming this would work the same for every brand of camera and not just mallincam?

I'm not completely up on all the technical terms, but what it does is takes the standard definition from a Video/security camera and converts it to High Definition signal able to be shown on a quality HD monitor, and it also has a built in Digital Video Enhancer (now banned in all countries as a separate item).
And the output is HDMI for better signal quality.

Just so im clear on this. This is only going to improve the picture quality if using a HD monitor or a HDMI tv? So in theory if i moved my hdmi tv into my spare room and used it as a pc monitor my picture would be clearer and in turn so would the picture i broadcast if i use a upscaling device?
Where would this sit in the cable flow then?
[camera] ---> (upscaling device) ---> [PC] ---> (change vga monitor cable to a hdmi cable into tv) = awesome picture?

Apparently so Chris. Ask Rock, he'll know.

Not convinced this device will make any difference to an nsn broadcast. It seems that no matter what native resolution your video camera produces or how you might enhance it, NSN will compress it back to 640x480. This device may however give improved resolution for viewing on your home screen.

No Allan, it won't help with NSN. It will help with HDMI TV though. You are right about NSN. By using an upscaler it would be like trying to shove a watermelon through a garden hose.
