I've had the occasional night with the ASI071, but haven't had much time with work etc. These screen shots are from a few weeks ago. Single 4 or 5min shots with the ASI071MC-cooled only, with guiding. Captured PNGs with sharpcap, processed live with astrotoaster M8 on my 8" F5 newt (27 May) NGC5128 & Eta Carina on my 80mm refractor (29 May)
I meant to try a few different sub lengths and see how short I could go, and keep image quality. But I ended up taking a pile of subs on each to try post-processing with startools.

Great images Chris. Glad to see you got the guiding working! I'm still to do that but like you too much on doing other stuff and rain and clouds n stuff.
Cheers Aussie Howie

I've kind of got guiding going. Did that while the weather was dodgy.
Some nights its good and others terrible. I've noticed my mount has quite considerable RA periodic error which leads to eggs, rather than stars. And I can't get PEC working properly on my mount. Fortunately, there's a beta version of PHD2 which has PEC prediction/correction. But unlike the PEC in the mount (which works straight off), the PEC in PHD takes a few cycles to get going properly. So you have to wait 15min while it does this - not exactly great if you are "live viewing".

In the north, its long days - so on work nights, it's hard to get time at the scope and still get to bed on time for work the next day. Have to rely on weekends, which of course have had spotty weather. :/
