I did some video astronomy with a new Orion LRGB filter set and the Lodestar X2M on the ED80T-CF on Sunday night using Starlight Live's multispectral capability. No luminance: M82 (5x15s each channel):

That's awesome! What is the "multi-spectral" capability you refer to?

That's awesome! What is the "multi-spectral" capability you refer to? Starlight Live, the software for use with Starlight Xpress cameras, has the capability to capture to one or more color channels at a time in a video astronomy setting. So with my mono camera, I can use a red filter for the red channel, then switch to a green filter for the green channel, etc. It allows a mono camera to produce a color image (albeit with more exposure time because you're doing three captures for one image). A filter wheel is recommended so you don't have to pull the camera out to change the filter and then have to try and match up it's position to continue stacking. You can also do different exposures and stack sizes for each channel (they don't have to match). It's also useful for doing narrowband imaging in a video astronomy setup. So I can select a color channel and apply a specific filter to that channel. So for example, if I want a hubble palette narrowband image, I send S-II to red, H-alpha to green, and O-III to blue (SHO): Here's M1 that I shot a while back using a hubble palette. Another common one is HOO (h-alpha to red, O-III to green and blue). Here's Thor's Helmet in HOO. For HOO, I only need two sets as I can put O-III to green and blue at the same time. HOO is recommended for narrowband to get something close to what a OSC would produce:

That's really nice Rob, especially ngc1952. Is your filter wheel motorised or are you out there turning the cogs ?

It's motorized (Starlight Xpress 7-position USB filter wheel). It's controllable from inside Starlight Live. I found it used for about half the price of new.
