This is a picture taken with a refractor 80/400 at 15x5". 75 seconds total exposure. The scope is a cheap one so excuse stars quality. The interesting thing for me is the very good sensitivity and color of this chip comparing to ICX825 of the ATIK Infinity. Software Mallincamsky

Banding? I never ear this issue. What is this?
Thanks for comment Shirva, another interesting feature of this chip is his very low noise and the Dark Field Correction of Mallincam's soft is very useful because the amp glow of the IMX224.
When I have the Bresser 5" refractor again, is at Thecnical Service, I will can say more things of this Camera/Chip/Software.

Haven't kept up with his stuff. Lost interest long ago when he was left behind by other Vendors selling better and more modern cameras for a lot less. Maybe a Skyraider? Sorry, I don't know.

The SkyRaider DS cameras have banding because they are interlaced cameras. They suck. Lots of misinformation Mallincam threw around with them.
My RisingTech 224 is a great camera. Made by the same people. The RisingTech software also has Dark Field Correction (not a Mallincam invention), stacking and I think star registration too. I paid $168US (free shipping) for mine. I've posted some shots in the "Other Cameras" section. As soon as I get more weekend clear nights, I'll be posting a lot more.

The camera elpjare used for his pic in this thread is the Touptek 224, not one of the crummy other Skyraiders, even though Mallincam chooses to call his 224 a skyraider. I suppose he can call it whatever he wants, but its still a Touptek 224 in the new style body. The problem with these new shaped bodies is: 1. the cooling fins provide no extra cooling, 2. the cooler made for the 224 bodies doesn't fit the new bodies.

Ah get it now, another bit of box rebranding.. so touptek must have some size of warehouse to store all the different" seller's boxes for there cameras" This is major concern for the astronomy community,, so many companies selling the same camera and all around the same price,, bet there is an agreement in place that they can't be sold below a set price..

The case also has a wider diameter, I believe, so slightly more obstruction.
[retracted summary of Mallincam Skyraider DS history]
If you know what the logarithm of 1 is, then you know how much business I will do with that company in the future.
