A couple of weeks ago Esk got hit by a pretty nasty storm. Big trees pulled out by the roots, tree fell on the shed where the car was parked - usual stuff.
But the worst part was that the storm tore the roof off my observatory and my scope and EQ6 GoTo got drenched.
I didn't apply any power to the mount until after I had thoroughly dried out the innards, but it looks like it is as dead as the proverbial .... (insert door-nail, maggot or Dodo).
I'm guessing I'm up for new board. Grateful for any advice on this.
Robert

Was the telescope powered, when it got wet,,of it wasn't,,the say putting a wet phone in a sealed container with rice absorbs moisture,, if you are taking the board out it may be worth a go

If power wasn't on when water hit, it should be okay. My grandfather showed me how to fix old valve TVs with a strong hose.
Pull it apart and give it some sun. Make sure it's really dry.

Robert, my EQ6 was blown over in a massive storm about 8 years ago and landed in the floodwater rushing through my backyard. The mount was completely submerged. My ED80 was still on it too. Because the storm was so bad, and dangerous, I left it there until the storm subsided the next day.
I dried it out completely and it has never missed a beat.
Like the others have said, if the power wasn't on it will be OK. If the power was on, then that's a different story.
I don't know if you can buy just the circuit board. Synta/Skywatcher/Orion don't normally sell spare parts for their mounts.

Thanks everyone.
No power on when it got wet. It had been drying for about 2 weeks before I powered it up.
Not looking good....

Oh, 2 weeks drying! No, not sounding good. Might be worth taking it to the local geek shop (electronics people) and ask them to run a tester over your board and see if they can find the fault. Hopefully it might only be a simple electronic component gone rusty or something like that.
