It's a fairly simple job to remove the terrible factory fitted IR filter from the Samsung SCB-4000 (SCC-A2333). The reason we remove the filter is because the factory fitted IR filter is only designed for security uses and has hte IR cut-off point at the wrong part of the spectrum for Astronomical work. The simple fix to clean up stars with this camera is to remove the factory filter and use an 'Astronomical' IR or UV/IR filter placed on the end of the nosepiece. There are several good brands of Astronomical IR and UV/IR filters. Astronomik 'L' UV/IR cut filter, and Hutech IDAS, and Baader UV/IR block being the best 3.
