My thought? Hmmmm . . . Focus is still a tad out. It looks soft.
If the temperature kept dropping that could explain the focus shift. Sorry Bobby, that's all the suggestions I've got.
I assume you got the Bahtinov cross spot on.

Ken I am assuming I had it dead center, My eyesight and me are comparable to your avatar, tri-focals in dark of night. The temperature may be the culprit it did drop quite a bit before I started capturing images after the focusing. I will remember that for future and by soft do you mean the crisp star details are lacking in the center of he image???

Ken I am not one to give up easy, went back through my steps of utilizing the Bahtinov Mask and have discovered there is a different mask for the LX850. The 12" Meade FP 414 did not go over the secondary collector cell completely it was off a good 1/2" from being seated (did not notice this last night in the dark). I have ordered the FP 417 and will try again, maybe my eyesight and Tri glasses are not that bad. Thanks for your input I am not giving up I will conquer!!!

Davy are you asking if there is a built in mask with in the Universe software, none that I know of. You can crop and enlarge a section but i have not had any luck with that feature.

Ummmm, Davy, I think you may be remembering seeing the bahtinov spike feedback focus tool in BYEOS which you use. Still need the physical mask on the scope to diffract the photons, but then BYEOS looks at the spikes in the preview window and tells you if the spike is centred.
Re Sharpcap maybe having that tool? Dunno ... I'd better go get the latest version to try out as that software seems to keep up to date real quick. They had a FWHM tool in 2.7 but I have been meaning to get 2.8 for the easy dark frame assistant ... so thanks ... you've reminded me I had better go download that to check out.
cheers
