I bought a Polemaster a month or so back and was able to finally put it to good use for testing. I have to say if you don't want to use a guide camera for Video astronomy this is your way out. It works like a charm. To set one up is so simple I did it first time out. The software is so straight forward a 10 year old could run it t. Heck even I was able to run it. Lots of folks are getting great results with it. It is a simple device that mounts to your mount normally to the front on top of the polar finder scope hole you mount already has. There are many adapters for the many types of mounts out there and more are being added all the time. The Polemaster is a good answer for the video astronomer who wants good guiding / tracking, but does not need or want a guide camera and the extra hassle of using one. A few extra minutes on the set up and you have as good a polar alignment as you can get. No Drifts and no guider needed. Someone on another forum laid out how to use the Polemaster very well. He even used pictures for dummies like me. www.cloudynights.com/topic/526304-step-by-step-screen-shots-of-polemaster-alignment/?hl=%2Bpolemaster#entry7033783Here is a link to a little more information and you can now find them at most dealers also. It is one of the best investments I have made in a long time. It might be that way for you also. www.qhyccd.com/PoleMaster.html

I can see how this would be a great aid to all the people who have to set up every time and polar align.

Ken
Yes it is a nice addition to anyone's set up I think. Someone who sets up and tears down all the time would find it most useful for sure.
Davey
I like pictures and my pea brain works better with them. he he he he

WUT?!?! Rip Off is a nice way to put it. That's the way it is here Rick. We pay exorbitant prices for Astro gear. And New Zealand is even worse! It's a whole lot cheaper if we buy direct from US but sometimes freight kills any savings, so some get a friend in US to buy for them and post the item over, but then we have no warranty.
