Yesterday afternoon I couldn't get Miloslick to work, got the ''exceptional handle'' thingy come up. tried all sorts to get it to work, uninstalling reinstalling must of done this about 6 times and same thing comes up. 'Alt A' didn't do anything.
Anyway I did notice in 'Video Device' there was a entry 'IP camera' and it was checked but I could not uncheck it has it was greyed out. I also noticed this in my other video software's that they too had this 'IP camera' in their camera device settings. I remember a week before that I downloaded a piece of software that controls IP camera's and I think this software setting has embedded itself into all my other software but for the life of me I cant remember what that software was called because I deleted it after having a look around it.
In all the other softwares I was able to uncheck it and select my device but in Miloslick its not possible. So I did a search for IP camera and that drew a blank, went into regedit and manually looked at all the entries and this took over a hr to do and still came up blank.
So I went back into miloslick and there is a tab ''Show source details'' and this came up with
@ device:sw 860bb310-5d01-11d0-bd3b-00aoc911ce86/1a2c1d86-0a25-4048-88b4-c4ef6-fd0b972 video input IP camera [jpeg/mjpeg]
so now I go back into regedit and manually look for this entry, found it and deleted it. I then reinstalled Miloslick fired it up and still got the error msg, but this time I was able to get into 'Video Device' and uncheck it, started up my cam and checked that in ' Video device' and it worked. GREAT so now its back to how it was, well almost.
I want to remove this 'IP camera' from my laptop but cant find any reference to it anywhere on my laptop, so was wondering if any of you nice people out there can shine a light on how to get this removed, it must be in the registry somewhere, but I looked in every single one, I most likely missed it or its under a different name.

Sorry John, that's way over my head mate.
When my Miloslick jammed up it took 3 days emailing back and forth with Bill to sort the problem. We eventually sorted it, and got it working again.
The main drama with Miloslick jamming up is that Bill wrote and tested the Software on a Mac computer, so he is unfamiliar with how to solve PC problems. He said he is going to purchase a PC and make it stuff up in there so he can discover all the fixes.

Its not Miloslick's fault with the software, because this IP camera is in all the video devices in the other software. I just have to make sure that a don't click on it or i'll end up going through all this rigmarole again

any chance you could do a system restore from a date before you downloaded the IP camera thing. It may help, it may not.

One thing that might help but prob not tho lol... so you have deleted all reference to the IP camera software thing? You deleted the entry in the registry... There might be others there. Have you tried a software called CCleaner? Its a great free tool for cleaning your pc. It has a registry fix feature that removes all un-needed crap. You could try that

Chris the problem is I've forgotten what the IP software was called, only had it on for a couple of minutes looking through it to see if it was any use to me and I deleted it straight away. Yep tried a couple of cleaners including CCleaner. when I delete programs I always do a deep scan removal and clean the registry and sometimes that leaves a few things on the pc.
I've done all sorts of searches within windows and it comes up with nothing, I've gone through my drives manually and checked every folder / file including the hidden ones but come up with a big fat Zero.
I got system restore disabled because it takes up to much HDD space. I might do a fresh install, I've been thinking of doing it for sometime to get rid of all the junk Toshiba install on them, but because the laptop as been running ok I keep postponing it.

How about just installing Miloslick again. Sometimes works wonders.

Allan, lost count the amount of times I've re-installed it, The IP Camera device is embedded in Sharpcap, Miloslick, Ampcap, Gstar, Manycams, so to me it must be in the registry somewhere and every time I fire up one of the programs it loads itself into the program.

your sure this is the issue? Cause ive downloaded like every software under the sun lol. And i do see IP camera as a selection in manycam. Have you tried removing all usb devices then put them back in? In case they have spazzed out a bit with all the different software trying to access it.

Seems Miloslick does not like Windows 8. Crashes a lot! Much more than it did with XP.
It really does not like the mini controller function when doing full screen mode.

John, my only suggestion is talk about it with Bill Koperwhats from Miloslick. He is really helpful and he might have a Windows PC to test it on now.

Didn't want to start a new thread so I'll carry on in here.
Ken, I forgot about this thread and I had the same problem as you with the ip camera in Miloslick.
Anyway another problem I'm having, any idea how to cure it, only happens on the laptop but I can replicate it on the desktop monitor if I reduce the window size as shown below.
only happens when I'm scrolling up or down

I get it all the time with the laptop as well. I just flick back to another menu then try again. Basically, I just live with it.

Allan, that's what I do but it was driving me nuts last night, I'd come out of it and go back in and scroll down to where I want to be at and it would happen again.
its as if the software does not resize to the monitor size.

Yep, I get it too John. Except mine doesn't give repeating text, mine turn into vertical lines, like the text has been smeared down the page I just keep scrolling up and down really fast to make it look right I wish Bill would come in here and answer comments about his software. Not everyone is a member of the Mallincam yahoo group or the Miloslick Forum. I'm happy to set up a vendor board for him in the Vendor section. Actually I'll do that and then let him know it's there with questions in it. Give me 10 minutes to set it up then post your questions in there so he can see them. It will be in the Vendor section.

Yeah John, but I don't think his Forum gets used much. It only has "Total posts - 230"
