hi folks, anybody got one of these,,,,the more i see it the more i fancy one,at nearly a grand its a cracking mount,i like it on the pier type tripod.

Holy Dooly davy, that's expensive!!! £929 for an EQ5 is way to much. That's more then the HEQ5 which will carry more weight Even the normal EQ5 is only £515 At that price it's only £20 cheaper than an EQ6 !!!!

Yeah..its nice ..I would need to be 1000 pounds/percent shure it would fill all my needs its big brother the azeq6 is way over any budget I would go for. .unc john has the eq8 mount and a heavy wood tripod but he has the big bad boy meade scopes to go on it.. I will see how the weather goes and the pipeband..may be trouble brewing there, so if I walk away from it,, it's full time astronomy for me.

I like the concept of the az /eq function , but for bang to buck I have to agree the heq5 with synscan is more realistic and would be a wiser move..I still require my kit to be mobile so the q6 is a bit big for my kit.
