The idea of using a different PC to the one I'm using CDC/EQMOD and the Mallincam Extreme came to me while I was setting up for last nights Lunar eclipse. Worked a treat, the second video output on the Mallincam really came up trumps. The second PC is my office one so another good thing is that I bring the files back with me from the obsy for review and sorting out. Back in the house where it's warm. Picture of Orion Nebula taken later after the Lunar eclipse.

Looks great Harry. Lots of wispy bits of outer nebula considering you had a full Moon to contend with. A SuperMoon too!

I took advantage of the eclipse to get the darkest sky possible, so the picture was taken when the moon was at it's darkest. I might not have the upper hand with the tech but I've learned a few things about planning my stargazing sessions.

Ahhhh, during the darkest time of the eclipse.
I was going by your comment: "Picture of Orion Nebula taken later after the Lunar eclipse"

I told a slight porkie there, well spotted Ken, but the picture was taken while the moon was obscured...... just after the eclipse.

Schmicko! Nice detail Harry. If you turn down the saturation level, or switch to Desaturate, the weird colour artifacts will go away. Often the Moon looks better desaturated anyway. Or you can go the other way and oversaturate, and if you have enough data it will show the different minerals in different colours

I've temporarily stopped using it to help with the learning curve, and setting other things up.

In any capture software Harry, not just Miloslick. Whichever capture software you use you should be able to turn down saturation and make it Black & White.
