had the skywatcher allview out tonight ed80 scope and the canon 600d.. these images are astrophotography adjustment levels tweeked only

Looking at this shot, it took me back to last night. While the moon was in totality, you could see stars immediately around the moon. I hadn't seen that before and it just took my breath away. I used to poo poo the moon but lately I've really been drawn to imaging it and seeing if I can push the magnification to see finer details.

the moon was very bright just like a sun with a large halo,could not see any detail until i dropped the exposure to -1.5,,got some vdeo to upload to you tube once i sort out a chanel..im intrested in how the canon 600d will perform on video mode for the stars ect,,worked ok lunar wise.

I have thought about trying my Canon with the Backyard EOS software and live preview to do live broadcasting. That was before AstroToaster appeared on the scene. I had people say that it would have only worked so/so.

When I get time I will put up the video of the moon done with movie mode.i dont think it will capture much more though. It's good just getting back out with a scope.

update, I had fitted a battery grip to one of my 600d cameras, just the basic mode, i have now replaced it with the meike pro battery grip with built in lcd timer and remote trigger button, had fitted one of these to my canon 450d and was impressed with it.
