Thanks davy. I was getting fed up reading Super-Techno-babble in many forums across the internet that left all the Beginners behind. A lot of it is handy, but the Basics seem to have been left alone. For them to find the 'basics' they would have to go searching back through months, or in some cases years, of advanced talk before they found how to get started. So I decided to show them by video how to start out. That they can use really basic gear, and that plugging in 2 or 3 cables on an analogue camera really doesn't take a whole lot more time or effort than just one USB cable (shown in Part 5). This latter part brought on by some people complaining that Analogue takes too much work to connect 'all those cables'. I use both USB cameras and Analogue cameras, and the Analogue cameras take me about 30 seconds longer to connect, and the cables are taped together in a loom. Where's the problem? Plus I can run my analogue cables 100 feet or more if I want to. But USB has it's place too. So I attempt to show how easy the whole spectrum of Video Astronomy is. I enjoy teaching people what I have learnt and I try to do that in a simple basic way. My videos aren't technically advanced in language, so almost anyone can understand them. I will keep making videos as I learn more and want to share it. I will always do them in a simple easy to understand way for beginners. In case anyone is wondering, these are my Video Tutorials Davy is talking about: astrovideoforum.proboards.com/thread/1198/introduction-video-astronomy-tutorials

Great idea Ken, keep it nice and simple so everyone can understand, when people start getting to technical it can make it look harder than it really is for a beginner and myself .
I've done my cables like you into one loom, now the 6 cables are one, all the cables are permanently connected at the computer end, hand controller, remote focuser, saves a hell of a lot of time setting up and putting it away.

Yep John, it's nice having it already set up. I have to unplug the USB connections on my laptop though because I bring it back into the Living Room with me. But the others stay connected (Focus, Mount hand controller).

Thanks for the encouragement about my Videos Phil And no, I'm not bald, as many people seem to say I shave my head. I can still grow a full head of hair. In fact I need a haircut now. I just find a clean shaven head so much easier to look after Yes, 'bloodynites' can be a real minefield for beginners. If anyone wants to be bamboozled with incessant gobbledegook to impress others, or referee Brand Wars, then they would be right at home in there. I hope you can make one of my broadcasts some time. It would be good to see you in there. In fact it would be good if the sky stayed clear so I could do a Broadcast

Phil, PART 6 is made and ready to upload but I won't upload it until I make PART 7. Otherwise the continuity of the closing Title and the link to the next Video doesn't work.

Thanks Bob. I hope to make more soon and add them to the series. Probably show how to do Video Astronomy without a computer, just using a monitor. And maybe some Lunar/Planetary Live stuff too.
