i hope so. i plan on usin the C6N with it for a bit. just to learn the mount and its quirks. then might piggy back my sammy with the 80mm off it.. or canon with a 500mm off it. not sure yet what road i will take or try all roads . lol
funny thing. did a factory reset on my one arm bandit. seems ok .. scope test tommorow. to confirm. so might have ordered to fast. lol
rick anything you can tell me i might need to know. like quirks you found? or things you do with wires? hints ...

No quirks that I've found so far.
I don't have a permanent setup, so I like that the mount plus tripod is light. I don't have a polar scope for it and doing a polar alignment is a pain in the rear for me -- I have a lot of large trees that block a lot of the sky. So I purchased the SkySense add-on and so far it works pretty good. I need to update the firmware and get it re-calibrated.
I don't do too much fancy wiring management, at least not yet.
Typically, my wiring at the mount is the following: - power for AVX - power for Mallincam Jr Pro - s-video video feed - MC Jr Pro control cable or - power for mount - USB to ZWO ASI120MC
I typically run the cables to directly underneath the scope with enough slack to handle E to W at the horizon. I have never had them snag on anything, once the scope gets going. When you start, just make sure they are out of the way of the tripod leg tightener pegs. The StarSense cable can get in the way a little, so I just make sure its tucked away. Never had an issue with the AVX declination cable. Oh, the wireless timer hangs from the Jr Pro so I have to watch it too.
The counter weight has a flat side. If you have a light load and the counter weight is high for balance, make sure the flat side is pointed toward the mount for extra clearance.
I admit I have not used any of the advanced features with tracking and PEC and such. I've been so involved in working on the scope/camera side, that I just need the K.I.S.S. approach for the mount until I can become a better expert with the other stuff.
Sorry this may not be very helpful!

I do the leg forward (north) under the counterweight. Here's my son looking at the Sun; you can see the leg forward configuration. I've always done it this way because I feel its the more stable configuration, but I have not done any testing of the other way. --Rick

I had a Takahashi 180 ED f/2.8 Astrograph which needed extra weights, yes it tipped forward hit a rock in the ground and broke various internal parts of the EQ6 mount. Always have a leg under/forward of the weights. If in doubt, try it the other way!! Clear skies... Shevill

Excellent start! Tweaking the polar alignment will tighten up those stars.

yes rick. i didnt even do a all star alignement . i had enter wrong time zone. and it still worked lol.... i think the scope has bad coma also. i read the C6N isnt all it was to be when celestron made it.. but its all good . it gives nice visual views also
iam thinking of using my sammy with a 500mm cam lens as a guider. but i have no idea if phd will work with the sammy..
ill have to see if it sees it ..

I'm jealous that you have the skies to be able to experiment!
I have a laundry list of things I want to work on and try, but the weather has me stymied!

Hi Rick, I have a question about your ZWO ASI120MC - are you using it to track? Thanks.

Hi Rick, I have a question about your ZWO ASI120MC - are you using it to track? Thanks. --Ram Ram, I think you mean "are you using it to GUIDE?" Tracking is what a Mount's motor does to move the mount in R.A. (Right Ascension). Guiding is where you use a camera to 'Guide' the Mount to keep it exactly on the object. Tracking is just the RA motor turning a Mount at the same speed as Earth's rotation. Guiding is small steps to correct for errors in the tracking due to the Tracking's backlash, periodic Error, wind, etc. Interestingly, an EQ mount tracks with one motor (R.A.) whereas an Alt/Az mount track using both motors because it has to compensate for R.A & Dec Co-ords.

Yes, my bad - sloppy language on my part though I've seen many many people post in different forums not knowing the difference or appreciating it (some probably were being sloppy too but there was an explicit exchange where someone thought guiding movements were the same as tracking movements which is an easy enough mistake to make if you've never had to do it yet---it's all subtly different I realise: pointing, guiding, tracking, etc.).
I'm thinking of another camera (guider) to complement my Mallincam Skyraider DS and I'm at a loss since I'm a Unix person and need whatever system I come up with to work on the Mac or Linux (already have started hacking at some code).
