After the last botched up Video test with the Meade SN10 for Video due to bad collimation I have attempted a second test. During the process of proper collimation I found: 1. The Corrector Plate was off centre which also makes the Secondary off centre. 2. The secondary Mirror wasn't aiming square up the focuser. 3. Primary mirror was so far off that the Cheshire collimation dot was waaayyyyy outside the collimation circle. All done and a second test proved far better than the first. But a few things still need to be addressed: 1. Vignetting 2. Coma Hopefully these will be corrected even more by lowering the amount of Focal reduction. I am currently using my home made 0.58x FR, but I will try the Mallincam MFR-3 Focal Reducer at 0.8x next time. Here are the results from my 'Night Skies Network' Broadcast two nights ago using my Mallincam Xtreme with 0.58x Focal Reducer, and you can see the bad Coma easily. The 82% Waxing Gibbous Moon didn't help any either

I think these look very promising... anxiously await more. I never seem to see you online... I need to start looking during alternate hours. What's your UT offset, +9.5? Sorry if I already asked this elsewhere!

+10 Rick. I get a lot of Americans watching while they have Breakfast and are heading out to work. Some log back in when they get to work. That'll give you an idea of the time I am on. In the UK I am usually on from about their lunchtime till about their dinner time. I usually broadcast for about 6+ hours each time.

HOORAY!! After a rather unsuccessful first attempt last month (seen above) with my MallinCam Xtreme in a Meade SN10 (10" f/4 Schmidt-Newtonian Astrograph), due to lousy collimation and Focal Reducer problems, I finally had a clear night last night to test the combination again with the scope Collimated perfectly and replacing the 0.58xFR with the front half of an MFR-5 (old version). It was extremely cold. Even with my heaters running I still had to demist the corrector plate about every 20 minutes, and my Mount power socket actually froze twice stopping the mount. There was ice in the socket! Amazing how handy a Hair Dryer is and when I was packing up my scope it was coated in thick hard ice, not frost Anyway, I have posted the Screen Grabs from last nights NSN broadcast in my Mallincam Imaging website on the 'OTHER SCOPES' page: ballaratman.wix.com/mallincamI hope you like them
