Hi folks weather still playing games for me..just when you think it's ok clouds or rain ..ground here frozen over in places yet and very slippy..so i joined a facebook group showing old and new photos of my home town kilsyth, and commented on how good it was to see all the old photo's and daid it would be nice to see them in a website..not long ago I made one for kilsyth thistle pipeband and had said it was hard getting really old photo's of the bands history..couple of days later I was contacted and asked to design and build a website to show and promote the photos..so been at it a week roughly and im 40 pages on and getting near to finishing the structure for caroline bowe to fill with photos of kilsyth and nearby villages..think it's been a great project to get going for future generations to see how the area has grown and developed over the years..proud to be part of it..will pist a link when caroline publishes it..davy

Excellent Davy.
Chronicle it all before it is either lost or forgotten forever.
Great project. I look forward to seeing it. My ancestors are from Scotland.

I am a bit of a collector/historian and have saved photo's, letters, diaries, achievements, career posts etc. and documented much of my life's activities & locations. I still have thousands of pics and documents to wade through that are in books and albums as a This Is your Life collection. It is interesting for me to look back on because I did not think I could have ever filled my life with so many various activities, achievements and scientific pursuits. Maybe my sons will one day find this interesting. My Picasa website: picasaweb.google.com/109921669020426367250 has sort of evolved this way, so I am pleased to see someone else taking the time and effort to document their history.
Keep up the good work,
Clear skies...
Shevill

Well the website for my home town of kilsyth in scotland is complete structure wise..50 + pages and was asked to add a families of kilsyth and surrounding village's. .its structure is complete 250+ pages alphabetical index for each village ect..the lady im doing the website with has started adding photos into the galleries and some historical facts for each section. .I think she is doing a great job..it's always going to be a job in progress site..be a while before it's published due to the size of it..I'm now just on stand by for snagging. . gave up the pipeband for the present time and this will free up time for va again.

oops 189 pages but this is just one page on each of the alphabet per village, as it stands each gallery holds approx. fifty photos,so will have a good few pages to add soon it was estimated at 250+ but I think it will grow to even more,,im hoping carol will just use single photos of folk living in the area im trying to talk her out of a page per family..in 2004 the population of Kilsyth was 13000 alone...
