does anyone know.. how much cold can affect the sammie.. i had mines out last nite. -6c and it went nuts after 40 mins ... i did have fan running on it tho.. it would go into scan lines. fadeing view. just all hinky ..
any ideas ?

Hi Phil sammy spec to -10 if I remember correctly. .but i recon this will be a lower value before camera goes into thermal shock..the camera i modded had an internal temp 6 degree above ambient temp..that would give you freezing point i would have thought that an ideal temp to keep hot pixels at bsy and stop dropping frames..ken im shure had ice on his and was still going hell for leather..

Mine doesn't like the cold, after a while the menu would be unresponsive or very slow, never got round to sort it out only does it when its freezing, didn't want to freeze my nuts off trying to sort it

lol yeah only have 2 rite lol .. ok sounds like they can have cold issues. some may or may not.. ill have to not use it when its that cold. lol witch normaly i dont lol .. but after month of clouds had to go after lovejoy.. cough was ok video.. but did it with 300mm cam lens.. not the 500.. to cold lol

It may depend on what model sammy. The SCB-2000 may not like the cold. I have the SCB-4000 (SCC-A2333) and it LOVES the cold. As Davy said, I had mine iced up and it gave the best views ever! Here it is iced up with a massive Peltier Cooler and it purred like a kitten

yeah you could keep meat fresh on that .. wow .. lol think iam goin to put a switch on the fan. and give it a go. do some timeing and see if theres a patern of some sorts. no idea yet .. will find out tho lol
