Ken I want to see if its possible just to buy the illuminator barrel instead of buying the complete EP, might strip it down tomorrow and see if I can modify it with a toggle switch, only paid £21 on ebay in a auction

Just done a bit of bodging up, what was happening the switch was just rotating round and round and it would not park in the off position, so I stripped it down and found the bakerlite had broke around the off position. So I've put some of that cement putty inside the switch and try to build it up so it will stop the contact from going past it. I've just put it back together and it seems to stop at the off position and stops at the full on position. Don't know if it will work , just writing this while the soldering iron heats up I've broke the green wire off that fits inside the barrel to the batteries

I had to re-do it again, put the cement on the wrong side of the off position, have to be a bit more gentle with it from now on

Chris I use it for centering the alignment stars when setting up. The EP has crosshairs inside and I switch on the illuminator which lights up the crosshairs so you can see the centre of the EP. I use a flip mirror so I can flip from EP to camera. It can double up as a normal EP with the illuminator switched off if I fancy a bit of visual, its 12.5mm Ep
